Let R be a unital ring equipped with a Sylvester matrix rank function.

Starting from a Bratteli diagram together with a harmonic function, one can

construct an ultramatricial R-algebra endowed with a natural rank. In this talk, we will study the rank-metric completions of such algebras. Our main result shows that, under extremality and aperiodicity assumptions, the resulting completion is independent of the Bratteli system and is isomorphic to the factor sequence completion associated with (R, rk). This result can be viewed as an algebraic analogue of the uniqueness phenomenon for the hyperfinite II_1 factor.
